Join Women’s Circus as a Board Director  

Are you an active Women’s Circus member who is passionate about growing, promoting and enhancing our organisation and community? The Women’s Circus Board is seeking a new Director from within our membership to contribute to the leadership and oversight of the organisation.  

As a Board Director, you will play an active part in achieving our purpose to empower people of marginalised genders to shape community and culture through social circus. The role involves helping shape our strategic direction, reviewing and monitoring the annual business plan and budget, supporting effective governance, contributing to fundraising, and promoting and representing Women’s Circus. You can read the full position description here.

Our Board Charter requires that at least one Director be appointed from within the Women’s Circus membership, bringing knowledge of the circus community. We are currently seeking a Director to fill this membership position. 

The only requirement is that you are an active training member who attends at least 2 terms a year – and of course, alignment with Women’s Circus mission and values is a must! Our preference is for someone who’s been a member for at least 2 years, but we’re open to hearing from passionate newer members. Industry or governance experience is welcome but not essential.  

We strongly encourage applications from trans and gender diverse community members, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, First Nations people, and Disabled people. We are committed to inclusive and responsive meeting and communication practices and adapt our processes to suit the access requirements of our Board members and community.
