Need time and rehearsal space to work your new Fringe show? Have an idea you want to play with? Ready to expand your performance practice? This is the residency for you!

Women’s Circus Artist Residency Program ‘A Room of One’s Own’ offers those who belong to marginalised genders working in circus/performance/physical theatre up to 2-weeks access to the Drill Hall, our training and rehearsal space in West Footscray for free! This residency is an opportunity for artists to explore, refine, re-develop, rehearse their work in a supportive, fully-equipped space.

Please note, the applicant must be a current Women’s Circus member to access the benefits of a free rehearsal space at Drill Hall. While not everyone in your crew needs to be a member (only the applicant) we recommend checking out the great membership benefits (includes heavily discounted rehearsal space hire)! Annual Memberships directly support costs associated with our artist development programs.

Head to our membership page to become a member and for more info.

Women’s Circus welcomes anyone to our organisation who belongs to a marginalised gender. View our Gender Inclusion Policy for more information.

All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who belong to a marginalised gender can access our training programs and membership free of charge. Contact us to discuss your enrolment.
