Join The Community Circus Volunteer Program

  • Are you a current training member of Women’s Circus?
  • Are you a former member and graduate of our New Women’s program?
  • Are you a circus artist with experience delivering Social Circus programs?

 

WE WANT YOU!

We are seeking volunteers to support the delivery of our community circus workshops alongside our committed and passionate team of professional Social Circus Trainers. All women wishing to volunteer with Women’s Circus are required to undertake this essential training.

 

Women’s Circus brings a unique approach to our workshops through applying a feminist and inclusive lens.

 

This half day Social Circus training has been designed especially for Women’s Circus training members who want to positively impact the lives of those women who cannot access our circus classes or workshops.

 

This training will also prepare you to support Women’s Circus trainers to deliver circus in local neighbourhoods, youth centres, residential facilities, community halls, and through other non-profits providing essential services to communities in need.

Training Will:

  • Prepare you to teach circus in diverse and unpredictable settings
  • Discuss potential challenges of teaching circus in community
    settings and strategies for dealing with them
  • Help you find your own unique voice so you can better connect
    with a wide range of participants
  • Teach you best practices for sharing circus with vulnerable
    groups in community settings
  • Connect you with a community of like-minded circus women who
    also want to share circus with those who don’t have access to it.

The Day will Consist Of:

  • Physical practice including circus skills
  • Sample scenarios and group problem-solving
  • Short lecture-style sessions with Q & A
  • Break-out small group sessions
  • Role playing and skills practice
  • Feedback opportunities
